Pastor Tawan and Tamiko Bailey are both 33 years old and have one daughter Makayla. Originally from Ohio, Pastor Tawan was appointed and transferred to serve as pastor of Bethel at the Ohio Annual Conference where he was then moved to the Pittsburgh Conference in October 2012. He serves as executive director for the Bethel Homeless Shelter and his ministry consists of recording, song writing, and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. First Lady Tamiko, prior to serving as youth ministries leader as well as director for youth choir & ministries and services coordinator for the Bethel Homeless Shelter, worked as an employment services specialist for the State of Ohio, assisting those in the Xenia and surrounding communities with job search, resume preparation, benefits training, as well as academic and career advising. Makayla is in the fifth grade and is extremely active with Bethel youth ministries, singing with the "Angelic Musical Elements" choir as well as worship and dance.
Pastor Tawan holds a bachelor of science in psychology from Central State University, a master of science in rehabilitation counseling from Wilberforce University and a master of divinity from Payne Theological Seminary. He has served persons with both mental health and developmental diagnosis as well as those struggling with addiction. For six years prior to his appointment to Bethel, he served as a professor in the areas of psychology and rehabilitation services at both his alma maters-Central State and Wilberforce Universities. He has released his first two recorded singles "A Love" and "My Hero" and hopes that Christ is lifted up and lives are changed by his music.
